Ask a Pol asks:

Are you guys on Secrets Task Force still planning on investigating Jeffrey Epstein even though President Donald Trump and House Republican leaders have blocked a congressional inquiry?

Key Luna:

“I’ve already done everything that I can from my perspective,” Secrets Task Force Chair Anna Paulina Luna exclusively tells Ask a Pol. I literally have multiple inquiries that went unanswered, so it’s not in my hands.”

Caught our ear:

Are you frustrated with the Department of Justice?

“I would say that everyone’s frustrated with DOJ,” Luna tells us.

TRANSCRIPT: Anna Paulina Luna (7-15-2025)

SCENE: Ahead of one of the last votes members of the House took before departing for their monthlong August recess, Ask a Pol’s Matt Laslo catches the chair of the new Task Force on the Declassification of Federal Secrets about the slowly unfolding Jeffrey Epstein scandal.

Matt Laslo: “Is Secrets Task Force, are you guys still planning on investigating the Epstein stuff?”

Anna Paulina Luna: “We – I’ve already done everything that I can from my perspective…”

ML: “Yeah?”

APL: “I mean, I literally have multiple inquiries that went unanswered, so it’s not in my hands…”

ML: “Are you frustrated with DOJ?”

APL: “I would say that everyone’s frustrated with DOJ.”

ML: “Yeah?”

Luna laughs.

ML: “Not Senate Republicans!”

Laslo laughs.

APL: “But remember, I’ve been looking into this for awhile...”

ML: “Yeah?”

APL: “….and there was still — back in, I think, probably February — a whistleblower that came forward that he had firsthand knowledge, or secondhand knowledge, that there were files being destroyed. But, like, either which way…”

ML: “Interesting.”

APL: “Either which way, there’s still information that they could release that doesn't implicate [?] victims, so…”

ML: “So you’re gonna keep the pressure up?”

APL: “Everything…”

Luna laughs.

APL: “I mean, everything I can, but I don’t have subpoena authority so I’m kind of…”

Luna shrugs.

APL: “Yeah.”

ML: “Right?”

Luna turns to Rep. Tim Burchett (R-TN) who’s showing a gaggle of congressional correspondents huddles on the Capitol steps a longboard he made for Director of National Intelligence Tulsi Gabbard.

Burchett shows off DNI Tulsi Gabbard’s new longboard on X.

APL: “Burchett!”

ML: “Have you asked [House Oversight Committee Chair James] Comer?”

Burchett (off mic): “Luna, check out my board.”

APL: “Huh?”

Burchett: [inaudible]

APL: “I’m gonna go on the floor. I’ll see you out there.”

Luna walks past Members Only sign on Capitol steps.

ML: “Thank you ma’am.”

Burchett shows off his board a little longer before joining Luna on the floor of the US House of Representatives.
